Yoooo what up? It’s ya boy Gio aka ya Tio Gio bka the Black Latino and I’m an On-Air Personality here at Power 98.3 working Overnights, Weekends, and Fill-ins. A little about me, I’m Black and Puerto Rican and I’ve lived in Phoenix for practically all my life so I rep it to the fullest. I love hip-hop and am an MC myself so shout outs to all the local artist whether you’re a singer, break dancer, graph artist, rapper, or DJ do ya thing!!! I got involved in radio about three years ago when I was accepted by Deonne, the community affairs director, to do an internship for the spring session. I then did another intern session for the summer for a total of 8 months of hard work and me busting my backside as an intern before I was hired on by The Nutz as a board op. It was at this position where I got my first taste of being on-air during a weekend show known as The Fashen Show with none other then of course DJ Fashen. Man I tell you cracking that mic and talking on air was like a drug and I had become an addict so my next goal was to transition from board op to on-air personality. I can’t thank Da Nutz enough because after a year of the board op gig I got my chance and I’ve been doing my on-air thing for about 10 months on the solo tip. I love my job and me being able to be on the radio is a blessing so I must give thanks to all of those that had a hand in me getting here so thanks to The Nutz, Deonne, DJ Fashen, Charlie Huero, Bruce, Karlie Hustle, the whole Power fam, my fam, and the most influential and supportive person my mom.

I gotta go with the diesel, Shaq, the man acts, raps, plays ball and clowns around and doesn’t take him self to seriously plus he dominates the paint.

Well I must quote Jay-Z on this one and say “When the liquor’s in my system ain’t no tell’in when I…..” or his remix “When the beer is in my system ain’t no tell’in…” It really don’t matter as long as I’m having fun.

BET because they normally support artist that MTV don’t and they tend to stay a head of the curve plus they got UNCUT. Ya’ll know what I’m talking about.

It don’t matter to me as long as they can be close to me, I ain’t too picky. We are talking about weight loss right?

Jessica Alba but if I could have them both well then just call me greedy.

Well my family comes from New York and I used to live in the Bronx so for right now I gotta say NY but I got mad love for LA and I plan on living out there later on in my life so that’s tough.

Tupac as far as lyrical content because what he had to say or his subject matter was most potent but Biggie as far as flow, lyricism, and creativity.
