My name is Matthew by birth, Myspace Matty by trade (not too thrilled with that name). I come by way of Central California, Salinas, a.k.a. “Salas: fool! More specifically, I grew up in a hick-town called Prunedale where my nearest neighbor was a couple of football fields away, and Roosters were used as alarm clocks. I somehow tricked a major university into allowing my attendance, and enrolled in UCLA in 1997. Those 4 years were the fastest (and haziest) of my life. I became OBSESSED with UCLA football and basketball—evidenced by painted chests and overnight campouts for first-row seats. I have been on countless ESPN Sportscenter highlights, sponsored by ADIDAS apparel, and had my picture printed on UCLA basketball season tickets. Upon graduating (they had to drag me out of that place), I took my first radio job in my hometown of Salinas at KDON. A year later I landed in Phoenix, and 3 years after that, I landed with my Nutz.
I live in the far-away city of Maricopa with my two Siberian Huskies and two cats. I coach middle school, high school and Little League softball, and enjoy every minute of it. My interests include sports, beer, sports, and if I have time—sports. My teams are the Niners (beat the Cards twice this year…ha!) the S.F. Giants, the Suns, and of course any and all UCLA squads…
Hit me up on my myspace….
- M.M.
