Just a lil something about me…..
Started my journey at the age of seventeen and made my move to The Valley of the Sun, not knowing what lied in my path in the years to come. I knew in my heart I wanted to work with or around music, seeing that it has been a huge part of my life since I was a child. I grew up in a family of very talented musicians and I thank my Father (The heart of our family) for introducing me to real music and amazing artist. He showed me how to really listen and feel real music not just “hear it”. I learned to appreciate it and respect it….I embraced it.....I fell in love. (Thank you Pops).
At the age of Twenty-two I decided to take my first step into radio. I would be lying if I said I wasn’t terrified and extremely nervous. That’s when my Mom stepped in. (The backbone of our family) I will never forget her words to me. “Mija you can do and be whatever you want in this life, but you have to take the first step or else you’ll never know. ” At that moment I knew I had my family’s support and close friends support as well.
I attended The Academy of Radio and TV in 2001 and enjoyed every minute of it! Met a great group of very talented people and learned something new from each and everyone of them.
At the age of Twenty-three I walked into my very first station looking for a job in promotions….and was successful! Promotions lead me to learn how to run the board, working on the air overnights, weekend shifts, and to getting my very own show after two years. (Nights) I was extremely excited and so thankful to everyone who believed in me and helped me get to that point in time. Since then I have worked on a couple of other stations here in The Valley during the Midday hours. It has been a true blessing!
The movement has been amazing! It has opened up so many doors for me and has given me great opportunities to work with wonderful people and companies like:
Cox Communication, Latino Future Magazine, Dillards, Xpoz Magazine, La Estrella De Tucson, Puro Latino Magazine, MDS Foundation, The Real Gift Foundation, SiTv, La Voz, and more.
I continue to move forward and look forward to being apart of such a GREAT family! I am exactly where I want to be! My NEW Home…..
