------------------------------------

JX3 came into the radio game under some very exclusive circumstances. The current program director discovered J while in a night club at an after party, where J was the Emcee. A former Arizona State University student and football player, J was actually in the car business as a sales manager at the time he was discovered, and was frequenting some valley area clubs along side the “Desert Doggs” as their main club Emcee. The desert dogs are a team of DJ’s who have been a very prevalent force in valley night life for over fifteen years and after meeting J and recognizing him due to his MTV spring break affiliation, put the mic in his hand and let him be……HIM, which makes the rest pretty much…..history

When Bruce (power 98.3 program director) met J and witnessed his interaction with a crowd at the party on that Saturday night, he approached him and basically said “Hi, im Bruce, Do you think you could do THAT on the radio?” and even though he was caught way off guard, J was able to hold his composure together and reply with a simple “I don’t know I have never thought about it but I would love to try!” Following a few meetings, Jx3 was introduced to the staff and began his journey as a radio personality.

“So do we keep the name JX3 for you or what?” asked Charlie Huero, the Music Director at the time and now the marketing director/co-host of the old-school show with MC Search. “I think it works, its kinda cool” he added, as J just humbly nodded in agreement. So its Settled, it is the birth of a dignitary…the birth of the President of the afternoon, JX3. j is often asked where he got that name from and his response is quite interesting. “When I was in high school, I was inducted into a rap group called the “Nomads” which was made up of a lot of members, but divided into chapters. The chapter I was in had 4 members, Kevin Peyton, Bryan Pryor, myself, and India….who is now known as India.Aire. nuff respect to her, she went and moved to ATL and became a star! We all are very proud of her! Anyway, there was a friend of ours named Tori who along with Kevin, Bryan, and India thought to put my initials, which are J.J.J. together and call me JX3! Now that’s mathematics!” he goes on to say “from there, the name just stuck with me.”

J began as an overnight/fill in personality, then was given his own show called the “overnight flight” which went from !am till 6am. From there he went to evenings (7pm-10pm) where he made a home for himself for 4 years. In 2006, he became the afternoon drive personality which is where he stands now as your President of the afternoon. From there, it just is what it is……Presidential baby!
